Sally's story

Breaking isolation after sight loss

Losing her sight took away Sally’s favourite activity.

As a child Sally was fully sighted. She fondly remembers flying down hills on her little bike, trying to keep up with her cousins. Sally loved cycling, but when she became blind, outdoor adventures and getting active became almost impossible.

Finding Two’s Company, everything changed. Through our guided tandem rides, Sally could enjoy cycling once more. It meant so much to connect with her childhood memories, make new friends, and get out in the countryside.

Come rain, snow or shine, you’ll find Sally on our tandem rides, chatting away to a volunteer front rider as the wind rushes through her hair. Healthier and happier, Two’s Company opened up a new lease of life.

“That fresh buzz from it. The adrenaline, the excitement. It’s invaluable. A blind cyclist would do anything at all to protect it.”

You can support people like Sally. Being blind is isolating. Our tandem rides connect people every week to the community they need. You can help.
