Maddie's story
Broadening horizons at Youth Project
Cycling is a skill for life. And Maddie learnt in a day!
Every week we see hundreds of kids at our youth project. Some come after a tough day at school, some need to blow off some steam. From free bikes for kids without their own, to bike maintenance help - all are welcome at youth project. Where we create a safe space to build confidence and find joy in learning.
Maddie had never ridden without stabilisers. But with 1-2-1 help from Benny, our youth worker, she rode away the very same day. From exercise to adventure, independence and self-esteem - riding a bike signified more than just a new skill for Maddie.
“Literally every day I go out on my bike. I can stand up now and go up all the hills.”
Our Youth Project opens doors. Every week, after school, we provide free bikes, and teach children how to fix them.
A tool of independence - cycling broadens horizons at every age. From explorative play, to free travel for teens into adulthood.

Help us give the skill of cycling to more children. Many children don’t have a bike to learn on. Or an adult to show them how. Our youth project makes cycling accessible for everyone. You can help.
Give today to open doors for more children at our youth project.
