What’s it all about?

A great way to get active, meet new people and feel the wind in your hair! Two’s Company welcomes visually impaired and disabled people on a varied programme of tandem rides. Our group rides are piloted by friendly volunteers and led by qualified ride leaders.

Who can join?

Two's Company is open to anyone who can't cycle independently. We welcome riders from eleven to over eighty! We have several different offers:

  1. Adults (for visually impaired people)
  2. 18 - 30s (for visually impaired and disabled people)
  3. 11 - 18s (for visually impaired and disabled people)

You'll need to be able to hold onto handle bars and pedal to ride on the back of a tandem.

New to tandems?

That’s okay! We offer one-to-one tandem taster sessions before you join a group ride.

Where do the sessions take place?

We organise short and gentle rides in Bristol and more advanced all-day adventures into the surrounding countryside and coast. You’ll be sure to find a ride that suits you.

When are the rides?

We hold regular rides from March to November. Most of our rides take place at the weekends. In summer we cycle on some weekday evenings too.

Our Two’s Company rides are free of charge, thanks to our amazing funders. If you can donate to keep this service going, we’d be really grateful.

What others say

“For me these rides give me a chance to immerse myself in the countryside, get up close and personal to nature, which otherwise I wouldn't do. The experience of cycling is very liberating especially freewheeling downhill and also helping to keep me fit. I very much enjoy mixing with people of all ages which I don't tend to do now. The social aspect is very refreshing and rewarding.”

Sheila

"Bria was a quiet girl with little confidence. Before tandem riding she was a bit shy to give things a go outside of her comfort zone. Now she just loves it and is always asking when the next ride is. Tandem riding has given her confidence such a boost, it’s amazing.”
